THE COURSE
The 5k Tryon Farm Trail begins at the historic 120-year old Tryon Dairy Barn and then winds its way through 150 beautiful acres featuring old-growth beech and oak forests, ancient dunes, headwaters streams, restored wetlands, flatwoods, meadows and tall-grass prairies. Nearly the entire course route is off-road, with a high-percentage of exciting single-track course through the woods including challenges like mud, logs and wet crossings.

10k’rs will traverse the same 5k loop twice, making for a dynamic circuit course where runners run the course over 2 laps. Both events end with a thrilling barnyard finish line, where race fans and friends await to celebrate with music, awards, food and fun.

The Friday Night Run is a fun run (not professionally timed) of approximately 2-miles in length, following the narrow and winding asphalt-paved Tryon Farm Lane as it snakes through the property, in and out of the woods over the creeks and past the gorgeous houses. 14 and older only event.

The Saturday Kids’ Fun Run will feature a quick 100-meter field dash for children 2-5 years old. The 6-10 year olds will run through an exciting winding 500-meter long custom course through the prairie and hayfield. Both age groups will finish at the main course finish line, arriving home just like the adult superheroes!

THE ENTERTAINMENT
Runners, race fans, family and friends will be treated to live music on Saturday at the Farm Fest immediately following the conclusion of the 5K/10K runs and award ceremony.

  • Gunpowder Treason
An acoustic duo, Will Huffman and Chris “Mo” Meadows, Gunpowder Treason is highly energetic with a wide range of music and genres. They’ll play throughout the morning on Saturday and they don’t disappoint!
  • Deep Fried Pickle Project
Join the award-winning Deep Fried Pickle Project jug band as they perform their zany, kid friendly music. The Pickles will perform live and run a workshop for kids to make their own jug band instruments. As Tor Hyams of Lollapalooza/ Kidzapalooza states, “The Deep Fried Pickle Project is a wonderful cross between mountain music and timeless old school fun.”
